From the Quandamooka peoples of Minjerribah (North Stradbroke Island) in Queensland, Dean is the Head of Indigenous Strategy and Engagement at Westpac, where he has led the development of Westpac’s first Indigenous Strategy and its sixth Reconciliation Action Plan.

Prior to joining Westpac, Dean led the referendum campaign on an Indigenous Voice to Parliament in 2023 as the CEO of Australians for Indigenous Constitutional Recognition and Campaign Director of YES23.
