The Policy & Advocacy program progresses RIAA’s mission by advocating and influencing the rapidly evolving policy environment for Responsible Investment – one of the four strategic pillars of the RIAA strategy.

Policy & Advocacy program goals

  • Lift and embed minimum mandated standards of responsible investment in Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand.
  • Influence global responsible investment norms to lift standards of investment practice, where relevant to our region.
  • Leverage the expertise and experience of RIAA’s staff and members in support of RIAA’s policy objectives.
  • Enhance RIAA’s policy and advocacy outcomes through strategic collaboration with other stakeholders such as members and peer organisations.
  • Ensure the ability to influence decision-makers through building RIAA’s profile as the authority on responsible investment in Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand.

Published ahead of Australian and New Zealand elections, RIAA’s policy platforms provide an outline of RIAA’s high-level policy areas for action to the respective Government.

Submissions

Submissions to policy or legislative reform consultation processes. RIAA’s submissions are public.

Op-eds or blogs

RIAA publishes thought leadership articles to raise awareness and drive discussions on responsible investment and its impact.

RIAA offers expert commentary on responsible investment issues, influencing public discourse and industry practices.

Informed members

RIAA members are informed through regular communications including newsletters and webinars.
