Glenda Taituha-Toka
General Manager Heritage & Identity at Waikato-Tainui
Glenda is of Maniapoto, Waikato and Ngaapuhi descent and leads out the tribal distributions framework for Waikato-Tainui.
An MBA graduate and a PhD student, Glenda's work focuses on integrated programme and investment models that enable communities to design and lead and identifying systemic moves away from granting and dependency.
Glenda also leads out the cultural heritage portfolios for the organisation, including protected objects, restoration and conservation of tribal artefacts, archives and capacity building programmes.
Her current work includes supporting the design and implementation of a tribal Social Investment Fund which focuses on health and financial independence tactics for tribal households. The Fund has a clear theory of change that put tribal families at the heart of decision making. Tribal nations have unique value, where investment deployment uses blending finance and procurement methods to create wholistic impact using tribal leverage and relationships.
Glenda holds governance and advisory roles in philanthropy, impact investment Maaori land blocks and education institutions.
