Before entering Parliament in 2020, Camilla worked as an employment lawyer for 13 years in NZ, and England and Wales.

Camilla is a Labour List MP and Spokesperson for Justice and Public Services. She has previously chaired the Education and Workforce Committee and the Governance and Administration Committee. Camilla has had three member’s bills pass in her name and is currently working on the cross-party Modern Slavery Bill that passed its First Reading on 27 April 2026.
