21 May 2019:RI Certification Program Review UpdateIn November 2018 RIAA commenced an extensive review of our RI Certification Program. The following provides an overview of the new criteria and the most immediate timeline of events that will affect your certified products. Please note that this review will not affect Financial Advisors or Dealer Groups.Overview of new criteriaIn response to consumer and industry research conducted by RIAA over the past 18 months, we have revised the RI Certification Program criteria.All Certified products will now need to demonstrate that they:Have product labels that are appropriate for the portfolio holdings (be what a typical responsible investor would expect);Have product claims that are honest, substantiated and where relevant, disclose performance against these claims;Have investment strategies that avoid significant harm (as a minimum) and/or generate positive impact;Have investment strategies that account for ESG factors; andAre managed by organisations that are active stewards and have a formal commitment to RI.We held a webinar to discuss the new criteria and help people navigate the Program’s key changes on Tuesday 21 May.https://youtu.be/ox8x2HXoWms
