RIAA's First Nations Peoples' Rights Working Group is an initiative to support members in their stewardship responsibilities respecting First Nations peoples' rights in their business operations and their portfolio of companies.
The First Nations Peoples' Rights Working Group has a three-fold purpose: address and advance the rights of First Nations peoples; elevate First Nations peoples' participation and voices in the investment sector; and increase access, scale and impact of First Nations peoples' related investment activity.
This meeting will open with a special presentation from Caleb Adams, lead author of Charting the Path, a research paper launched in November 2025. Drawing on this work, Caleb will discuss the systemic barriers constraining capital flows into First Nations-led initiatives, and the need for stronger alignment between investors, communities, policy settings, and cultural values, as well as the economic potential of the First Nations economy across sectors including clean energy, housing, land management, and nature markets.
This presentation will be followed by the regular industry updates.
