Second, Reflect RAP
Reconciliation Australia congratulates Responsible Investment Association Australasia on continuing its reconciliation journey by formally endorsing Responsible Investment Association Australasia second Reflect Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP). Through this plan, Responsible Investment Association Australasia continues to play an important role in a network of more than 3,000 corporate, government, and not-for-profit organisations that have made a formal commitment to reconciliation through the RAP program.
- Karen Mundine, CEO Reconciliation Australia
RIAA’s vision for reconciliation is where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ voices, knowledge and potential for economic self- determination are recognised and amplified within the investment sector.
RIAA highlights the importance of truth telling in this reconciliation journey and will share and raise awareness of a fuller and more accurate account of Australia’s history specifically in relation to injustices perpetuated by the finance system.
RIAA’s RAP will be championed by the Co-CEO, Estelle Parker and implementation will be overseen by the Head of Operations. Implementation will be actioned by the Manager of Working Groups. The RAP will focus on our capability to influence not only our own organisation, but also the sector. While internal, organisational actions will still be achieved, as a small organisation of 20 people, this will have limited impact on equity and reconciliation across Australia. In the actions within the RAP, we detail how we will use our considerable influence in the field to positively impact First Nations peoples.
RIAA’s RAP Taskforce Includes
- Estelle Parker - Co-CEO, RIAA
- Brendan Bailey - Head of Operations, RIAA
- Jessica Rowe - Manager of Working Groups
- Cath Brokenborough - Executive Lead, First Nations Engagement and Reconciliation
- Jocelyn King - Chairperson, First Australians Capital
- William Leak - Senior Sustainable Investment Analyst, Mercer Investments, and Co-Chair, RIAA’s First
- Nations People’s Rights Working Group
