Industry Professor of Emerging Technology and Co-Director
Professor Nicholas Davis is Industry Professor of Emerging Technology and Co-Director of the Human Technology Institute (HTI) at the University of Technology Sydney. HTI is a multidisciplinary institute dedicated to ensuring that technology is designed, governed, and applied in ways that advance human dignity, fairness, and wellbeing. By combining applied research with close collaboration across government, industry and civil society, HTI equips decision-makers with the insight and tools they need to build trustworthy technologies that deliver public value.
Previously, Nick was Head of Society and Innovation and a member of the Executive Committee at the World Economic Forum in Geneva, where he worked globally with leaders to navigate the opportunities and challenges of the Fourth Industrial Revolution. He later served as Managing Partner at SWIFT Partners, a Geneva-based consultancy supporting organisations to unlock sustainable value from technology. With Klaus Schwab he co-authored Shaping the Fourth Industrial Revolution, a guide to navigating at the intersection of technology and society.
Nick is also a Certified Professional Facilitator, a Fellow of the Royal Society of the Arts (FRSA) and holds appointments as Associate Fellow at Oxford’s Saïd Business School and the Geneva Centre for Security Policy, Visiting Fellow at the Australian National University, a member of the ASIC Consultative Panel, and a board member of the IMPROVE European Innovation Management Academy.
