RIAA Board Election Process

  1. PRN looks at the previous year’s Board Skills Matrix and EoI Materials, makes recommendations to the Board based on gaps in the Matrix. These recommendations are highlighted in the EoI Materials.  
  1. Board approves Board Skills Matrix and EoI Materials.  
  1. EoIs are sent out with the Board Skills Matrix, calling for candidates for RIAA Board Director. 
  1. EoIs are received. 
  1. PRN looks at EoIs from Candidates, identifies which candidates best fill the gaps in the Board Skills Matrix. Recommends that the Board endorses particular candidates. 
  1. Board discusses the recommendations of the PRN, endorses candidates. 
  1. Candidates are informed whether or not they are endorses. If they are not, they are a) informed that it is a decision based on the needs of the Board, in accordance with the Skills Matrix, b) warmly encouraged to stay involved with RIAA, and c) offered the opportunity to withdraw their candidacy.  
  1. Those who are endorsed by the Board have the words “RIAA Board endorsed” next to their names in the election forms.  
  1. Some candidates withdraw, some remain. 
  1. Director elections open 
  1. Members vote. 
  1. Director elections close 
  1. Winning candidates are announced at RIAA’s AGM.
