Our portfolios are built around high-conviction ideas drawn from our own fundamental, proprietary research. We undertake over 2,000 meetings each year with management teams, boards, competitors, customers, suppliers and industry experts every year, developing a deeper understanding of the companies and industries in which we invest. Our Australian equities and fixed income team comprises 25 investment professionals with an average 18 years’ industry experience. Having a large number of dedicated members helps to ensure we undertake detailed analysis to gain the best insights across a raft of industries and asset classes. Our teams collaborate daily to gain insights across both the equities and fixed income markets. We have robust investment processes and a rigorous risk management and compliance infrastructure. In addition, we place a strong emphasis on environmental, social and governance (ESG) issues, which form a mainstream part of our research process and risk analysis and are considered to varying degrees across all of our investment strategies. We are a signatory to the United Nations Principles for Responsible Investment (PRI) and take our responsibilities as active owners seriously; where ESG issues have been identified we constructively engage with management or company boards to seek progress on the issues.
