Majority Capital Partners manages a concentrated Australian equities strategy focused on mid-cap companies. The strategy is engagement-led. We work constructively with portfolio company boards and management teams to address identified performance gaps and unlock long-term value. MCP’s investment philosophy is built around two key drivers of long-term total shareholder returns: return on invested capital and sustainable growth. The engagement playbook focuses on practical improvements in governance, strategy, capital allocation, operations and material ESG issues. The team’s edge lies in a combination of experience and capabilities that is difficult to replicate. This includes prior experience building and managing Australia’s largest dedicated shareholder-activist fund, together with backgrounds in public and private equity investing, Sustainable Investing, investment banking and corporate governance. The team also brings the boardroom credibility required to engage effectively with directors, executives and other stakeholders. MCP addresses a structural gap in the Australian market. Governance shortcomings, weak capital allocation and operational underperformance are relatively common, yet dedicated activist capital and effective corrective mechanisms remain scarce. While attractive investor returns are central to the strategy, MCP also seeks outcomes that strengthen the business and create lasting benefits for employees, customers and other stakeholders beyond the period of its investment.
