Responsible Investment Leaders are investment/asset managers that rank in the top 20% of all organisations assessed by the Responsible Investment Scorecard, demonstrating leading practice through their commitment to responsible investing; explicit consideration of ESG factors in investment decision-making; strong and collaborative stewardship; and transparency in reporting, including the societal and environmental outcomes achieved.

An independent grant-making organisation supporting the work of not-for-profit groups in the Auckland and Northland regions of New Zealand. Foundation North (formerly ASB Community Trust) is founded on the sale of its shares in ASB Bank and has made grants worth nearly $800m since being formed in 1988. In its fiduciary role the Foundation believes that environmental, social and governance (ESG) issues can affect the performance of investment portfolios and in support of these beliefs the Foundation is a signatory to the United Nations Principles for Responsible Investment (UNPRI). Investment managers are selected by the Foundation with consideration given to their beliefs and practices relating to ESG issues. All investment managers must actively vote using guidelines developed around best practice fiduciary standards. The Foundation’s benchmark for responsible corporate behaviour is the United Nations Global Compact. The Foundation encourages dialogue and discussion on any issues raised through a process of engagement.
