The National Provident Fund (‘NPF’) and the Government Superannuation Fund Authority (‘GSF’) jointly own a management company, Annuitas Management Limited, based in Wellington. The main function of Annuitas is to provide management services to the GSF and NPF. GSFA is an autonomous Crown Entity, established in October 2001. At 30 June 2022, the assets of the GSF exceeded $4.9 billion and there were more than 48,000 contributors, annuitants and deferred pensioners. NPF is trustee of eight superannuation schemes with total assets of $1.8 billion and over 61,000 members/pensioners at 31 March 2022. The Board administers the schemes and manages the schemes’ investments in the best interests of members taking into account the interests of employers and the Crown (as guarantor of the benefits).
