Senior Working Groups Officer

Help drive collaboration at the intersection of finance and sustainability

Hybrid role based in Aotearoa New Zealand (Auckland preferred). Permanent full-time role, part-time considered for the right candidate.

 

About the role

The ResponsibleInvestment Association Australasia (RIAA) is seeking a Senior Working Groups Officer to provide exceptional coordination and secretariat services to RIAA’s Working Groups Program.

In this role, you will:

  • Support the functioning of Working Group meetings including the Aotearoa Impact Investment Network (IIN), prepare and circulate meeting papers, and ensure strong governance and transparent record-keeping.
  • Procure and collate material from stakeholders for the Working Group Newsletters and communications
  • Work with the Aotearoa Impact Investment Network (IIN) and other advisory groups to drive impactful collaboration across the finance sector.
  • Provide administrative support for any development opportunities that result from partnership/stakeholder management eg. grant applications and reporting.
  • Support the design and delivery of in-person and online industry events.
  • Assist the Working Groups Manager with strategic projects and initiatives across RIAA’s working group thematic areas.
  • Help promote and embed understanding of the Treaty of Waitangi and RIAA’s Reconciliation Action Plan in Working Group activities.

This is a fantastic opportunity to gain exposure to Australia and New Zealand’s investment sector, working with super funds, KiwiSaver providers, investment managers and other leaders in responsible investment.

 

About you

We’re looking for a highly organised and proactive professional who thrives in a fast-moving, collaborative environment.

Essential skills and experience:

  • Excellent organisational skills, including project planning and management.
  • Strong professional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Confidence in managing calendars, agendas and engaging with a variety of stakeholders.
  • High attention to detail with the ability to prioritise multiple competing deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently, with initiative and a flexible “can do” attitude.

Preferred:

  • Experience providing high-level secretariat or governance support.
  • Knowledge of investment, sustainable development, human rights, nature, First Nations Peoples’ rights, or impact investing.
  • Experience in Aotearoa’s financial or sustainability sectors.
  • Understanding of and commitment to the te Tiriti o Waitangi and Reconciliation in Australia.
