Advisers who are members of RIAA can also apply to be Certified by RIAA. To achieve this status they need to have fulfilled the following requirements:
- Complete the specialist RIAA training course for financial advisers and pass the exam;
- Include questions in their Fact Find which seek to discover whether a client would like to take environmental, social, governance or ethical issues into consideration when making investment decisions;
- Demonstrate an ongoing commitment to providing investment advice that considers a person’s personal values and sustainability goals in addition to their financial goals.
With RIAA Certified Advisers you will be able to find out how long they have been offering responsible investment advice, their educational and training background, the number and type of funds available on their approved list, whether they offer direct share advice, and whether they charge a fee for service, commission, or combination of the two. Find advisers who have been certified by RIAA.
