Vanguard's two Sustainability Leaders funds: Australian Shares and International Shares, offer investors an opportunity to invest in companies that lead their industry peers in terms of sustainable business practices ('Sustainable Leaders').
Sustainability Leaders are identified via a screening process undertaken by Sustainable Asset Management (SAM), a Swiss company established in 1995, recognised as a global leader in sustainability research. SAM analyses corporate sustainability as a business approach to create long-term shareholder value by embracing opportunities and managing risks deriving from economic, environmental and social developments.

For both funds, Vanguard uses the securities selected by SAM to create a diversified portfolio with risk and return characteristics similar to those of the broader Australian equity and International equity markets respectively.
