Perpetual's Ethical SRI Fund builds on Perpetual's long-standing investment approach for Australian equities by limiting all investments to companies not involved in socially or environmentally damaging practices.

Like all of Perpetual's Australian equity products, the Fund restricts investments to companies that pass four quality filters, namely, sound management, conservative debt levels, quality business and in the case of industrial shares, recurring earnings. The resultant universe of possible investments is then screened on a range of social and ethical criteria to determine their suitability for inclusion in the Ethical SRI Fund’s investment universe, which contains the companies that the Fund is allowed to invest in. The negative screening excludes any company that in our opinion derive a material proportion of their revenue in alcohol, gambling, tobacco, uranium, weapons and armaments.

Where the proportion of a company’s revenue from such activities exceeds 5% of total revenue, the company will be excluded from consideration for investment.
