Christian Super is a unique Christian based superannuation fund primarily focused on the Christian community in Australia. We have captured our Christian Principles in our ‘Statement of Faith’ and in our ‘Purpose, Vision and Mission Statement’.
We began as the Christian Schools Superannuation Fund in 1984. In 1999, we changed our name to become Christian Super, and since then the Australian Baptist Retirement Fund, the Churches of Christ Provident Fund and a number of Christian funds have merged with us. In April 2006, we became a public offer Fund.
Anyone can join or contribute to Christian Super. We are growing strongly and currently have around 17,000 members, including employees, self-employed and pensioners. We are the default fund for over 1,600 ministry organisations across Australia.
We manage $500 million in funds for our members. Assets are ethically invested to provide competitive returns within Christian principles.

Please explain your superannuation fund’s overarching responsible investment strategy
Christian Super uses professional investment managers and, in some circumstances, professional internal staff to manage the Fund’s investments and to implement the ethical parameters that are set by the Trustee.
Individual managers are appointed and regularly reviewed with assistance from the Fund’s investment adviser. These managers operate in Australia and internationally and specialise in specific asset classes such as shares, property, alternative assets, fixed interest and cash. A list of current investment managers can be found in our latest Annual Report or on our website.
